Fat cat with taste for cheesecake comes out on top in slimming competition

A cat used to eating cheesecake has been named a Scotland’s top slimmer by a pet charity after losing almost a fifth of his body weight.

Chester, from East Lothian, was more than 50% above his ideal weight at 7.6kg (1st 3lb) before slimming to 6.3kg (1st) over six months.

The cat was used to eating treats and leftovers from his fellow house cat and was so big his owners thought there was an underlying medical problem.

When tests showed too much food and a lack of exercise were the problem, Chester was enrolled in the PDSA Pet Fit Club.

PDSA vet Olivia Anderson-Nathan said... “Pet obesity is a growing issue that affects millions of UK pets. Around 40% of dogs and cats in the UK are estimated to be overweight or obese.”

Computer genius built a fraud machine to con savings from hundreds of bank customers

The machine, known as a Semi-automatic Social Engineering Bank Telephone Machine, allowed Muldowney-Colston to alter his voice to pretend to be someone of any age or gender.

This allowed the 53-year-old to impersonate genuine customers when he spoke to banks. The machine also played pre-recorded bank messages in a bid to trick unsuspecting victims.
