Kef fire risk 03/05/23: Low (https://civilprotection.gov.gr/arxeio-imerision-xartwn?field_imerominia_harti_value=05%2F03%2F2023)

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.905 GBP
1 €UR = $1.1294 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1050 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8854 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the Post Office (https://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money).
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Zante Ferries Fior di Levante was delayed in Poros this morning waiting for an ambulance to arrive and collect a passenger from the incoming journey. Another example of the need for at least one ambulance permanently based in Poros to serve the Elios-Pronnoi area.

Rare 'warty' pigs born at Newquay Zoo

Newquay Zoo in Cornwall has welcomed the arrival of two Visayan warty piglets – one of the rarest species of pig in the world.

The birth of the piglets is a huge success for Newquay, especially as it comes less than a year after the arrival of older siblings, Kevin Bacon and Amy Swinehouse, who were named with the help of the public.
