A 46-year-old man faced a prosecutor in Alexandroupoli, northeastern Greece, on Thursday, accused of putting three puppies into a plastic bag and throwing them into the Tychero Lake in Evros.

Two of the puppies were rescued by passers-by but the third drowned.

The 46-year-old faces charges of violating laws designed to protect animals.

The Greek police released a statement noting that the abuse or poor treatment of animals, including hanging, drowning, burning, crushing, mutilating, and putting down without just cause are punishable offenses carrying financial penalties and jail terms.

The statement asked citizens to inform their local police precincts of such incidents.

Earlier this week there was a report that said  a glass of red wine was equivalent to a one hour work out because of the Reservatrol it contains. http://www.bustle.com/articles/41340-drinking-a-glass-of-red-wine-is-the-same-as-getting-an-hour-of-exercise-says

So if we apply the mathematical rule that things that are equal to the same things are equal to each other, then exercise increases stroke risk.  :)
