Theofilos Michalatos is the new mayor of the Argostoli-Poros region, beating the incumbent mayor of Kefalonia, Alexandros Parisis, in the vote. Surprise to me, seemed the Kef media was constantly slagging off Michalatos and bigging-up Parisis.
Makis Monia won the election in the north of the island, Yiorgos Katsivelis was elected mayor of Paliki.

I went there in April. Terrible place with roads in poor condition, too much traffic and expensive prices. I will not return. However, Samos, Tinos, Kythira, Syros and Kea were very quiet, not having international airport connections.
