Greece Moves Toward Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccinations for Most

Greece's National Bioethics Committee will likely recommend that certain social and professional groups must be vaccinated against COVID-19 as the country is struggling to reach a 70 percent of the population benchmark needed to beat back the pandemic.

The report was due June 18 for Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis who urged everyone in the country to be inoculated but said he wouldn't force health care workers in fear those who resist wouldn't be available to battle the crisis.

The requirement would begin in the autumn, said Kathimerini, to give time to allow everyone a chance to have the vaccinations if they want although there is a small but hard-core group of doubters who think the shots are not safe or effective of a government-pharmaceutical industry conspiracy to change their DNA.

‘Prices are ridiculous’: UK holiday costs more than Europe as demand grows
Summer travel saga means people are booking up UK cottages and campsites as owners cash in

When Donna Brunton started looking for a backup UK holiday, fearing her family’s £2,500 all-in trip to a four-star beach hotel in Malta would not go ahead, she almost fell off her chair when she saw the prices.

“A holiday park in north Cornwall was quoting £3,699 for the four of us to stay seven nights, self-catering in what looks like an upmarket caravan. The only sites available were all thousands of pounds. I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing – the prices were just ridiculous,” said Donna, a nurse from Consett, County Durham.

Center Parcs ran into a storm over its summer pricing and was accused of charging more than it would cost for a family of four to visit the Caribbean.

Many campsites are full, but Airbnb has a bell tent near Great Yarmouth at £750 for a week. There’s a double bed for the adults but the the kids are on air mattresses. And it’s bring your own sheets.

Enterprise in Penrith will hire you a five door Ford Focus for £438 a week rising to £619 if you take all the extra insurance.
