Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.9129 GBP
1 €UR = $1.0965 USD
£1 GBP = 1.0954 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9120 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Urgent. Super-cheap seats for December 2023 to March 2024?

Tickets for travel from 1 December 2023 to 23 March 2024 are due to go on sale at the Easyjet website on Thursday 9 March.

Easyjet hasn't confirmed the exact time but it usually says tickets will be released first thing in the morning, around 6am. However, MoneySavers have reported finding seats on sale even earlier than this on previous seat-release days.

Might be worth clicking that link and reading rest of article, if you're thinking of grabbing one of those 'bargains'.

‘Greece has derailed’: tens of thousands of protesters ‘rage’ over train disaster
Demonstrators voice fury after revelations of staff shortages and substandard equipment revealed state of rail network

Tens of thousands have staged protest rallies in Greece as anger over a train disaster that plunged the country into mourning a week ago intensified amid widespread industrial action.

In cities nationwide, as workers staged a 24-hour general strike, demonstrators voiced fury over an accident that left 57 dead when two locomotives collided head on and at high speed outside the town of Tempe. It was the deadliest train crash on record in Greece.

Scientists discover how to make electricity ‘out of thin air’
Huc enzyme means ‘sky is quite literally the limit for using it to produce clean energy,’ researchers say

Scientists have discovered an enzyme that converts air into electricity, potentially unlocking a near-limitless source of clean energy.

A team from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, found that a hydrogen-consuming enzyme from a common soil bacterium was able to generate an electrical current using the atmosphere as an energy source.
