Sustained a bit of damage here this morning, one of Mary's favourite ornaments got broken. Nothing to do with the 'quakes, two of the cats were playing kiss chase and dragged the table cloth off. Could've been worse.

Cows farting in Germany made the BBC news but apart from an article in the Guardian, which didn't say anything we didn't already know, I haven't seen anything about Kef in the UK media. Maybe I've just missed it.

Thanks, Maarm. Saw the bit in the Guardian, thanks for the Telegraph link. I've largely given up reading newspaper travel articles but that was more newsy - no claims the author was sat on the white sand beach of Myrtos and none of the usual travel article plugs for a tour company, a hotel and a couple of tavernas. Didn't even claim the second pic was St. George's castle. Μπραβο, Mr Smith!

Oliver Smith is the Telegraph's Digital Travel Editor. His favourite holiday destinations are Cornwall, Greece and Italy.

Here's an quote from another of his articles:

Quote
Hotel advert angers Brummies

The Hotels4U commercial, created by the same marketing agency behind the much-maligned opera singing Go Compare efforts, features a loudly-dressed couple planning a romantic holiday. In an effort at humour, the man repeats the phrase “anything for you, cupcake” to each of his partner’s requests in an exaggerated Birmingham accent.

But residents of Britain’s second-city have failed to see the funny side, describing the clip as “offensive”, “unrealistic” and “appalling”.

Brummies without a sense of humour??  :hmm:

For anyone who hasn't seen it, here's a vid clip:

Maybe not a bad thing Maik given the negative impact the quakes could have on tourist bookings..!!!!!!!!

Think you're absolutely right there, kefman. Given the usual accuracy when it comes to strikes ("Greece paralysed"), Kef would be described as flattened.

Thought he'd fetch more than that.
