Tragedy on Levkas yesterday evening when an agricultural tractor overturned on a tight bend on a mountain track and fell into an adjacent field, killing a four year old boy believed to be the son of the 30 y-o migrant worker driving the tractor.

A German Shepherd missing from Kourouklata for about five days has been found shot dead in the Thinia-Kourouklata area. Anyone who knows anything about his disappearance/murder is requested to contact the local police or 'phone the new hotline on 10410.

Overall population decline on Kefalonia and Ithaka in 2021 compared to 2020: 290 births in 2021 whereas 296 in 2020; 492 deaths in 2021 compared to 464 in 2020.

As we've seen from (absence of) posts on GGi there were fewer fires and less land burnt on Kef this year than previous years with most being brought under control and extinguished fairly quickly. However, September was challenging due to five fires in the south on one night.
