Amazon to stop accepting Visa credit cards in UK
Amazon will stop accepting Visa credit cards in the UK from 19 January, the online retail giant has told customers.
It said the move was due to high credit card transaction fees but said Visa debit cards would still be accepted.

A library book has been returned - more than 73 years late.
Stately Timber by Rupert Hughes – an adventure story set in Boston, US – should have been returned to what was then Dunfermline Public Libraries’ Central Library in Abbot Street on November 6, 1948.
However, staff at the Fife library, now Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries (DCL&G), were stunned to receive a parcel containing the book last week.

Greece Will Allow Development, Construction in Designated Forests
After prohibiting building on burned lands after raging wildfires this summer, the New Democracy government is moving to allow agricultural use and even construction in some of Greece’s forests.
The Environment Ministry is drafting legislation for those purposes, said Kathimerini, indicating that it would be limited to mostly former fields that had been abandoned and became woodlands.
Some 690,000 hectares (1,705,027 acres) of what had been protected forest and woods would then be available for use although it wasn’t said what kind of restrictions or conditions would be put on construction, Greece noted for allowing and then legalizing unlawful building so as to bring in more revenues.
