Post by: Maik on Thursday, 16 December, 2021 @ 02:27:51
Five new cases of coronavirus confirmed on Kefalonia yeterday by EODY.

Today's bank rate:
1 GBP = € 1.1425
1 USD = € 0.8621

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the Post Office (https://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money).
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Line of Duty's 'Ted Hastings' calls out Met Police over No 10 party in protest video

Led By Donkeys appeared to use the voice of a Line of Duty character to question Metropolitan police on why they will not investigate the Downing Street Christmas party.

The political activists parked a large screen outside Scotland Yard in a bid to question Metropolitan police commissioner Cressida Dick.

Line of Duty's Ted Hastings appears to voice the audio that says: "It's not a rhetorical question ma'am, the police serve the public, we do so without fear or favour," the voice adds.

"Who exactly does the Metropolitan Police UK work for ma'am? Our citizens, or Boris Johnson?"

Extraordinary image shows 'raucous' Xmas party thrown by Tory aides in lockdown breach

It shows 24 people crowded together - in blatant breach of lockdown rules - in a medium-sized room in the party’s Westminster HQ.

Some of the group are shown wearing paper hats while one is sporting a House of Commons Christmas jumper.

The event, organised by top Tory Shaun Bailey ’s mayoral campaign, took place on December 14 last year when London was in Tier 2.

Boris Johnson joined No 10 pizza party during May 2020 lockdown, say sources

Boris Johnson joined No 10 staff for a party in Downing Street during the first lockdown in May last year, sources have alleged, raising questions about whether there was a culture of flouting the rules over a number of months.

The prime minister spent about 15 minutes with staff at the alleged social gathering on 15 May 2020, telling one aide inside No 10 that they deserved a drink for “beating back” coronavirus, a joint investigation by the Guardian and Independent was told.

Sources claimed about 20 staff drank wine and spirits and ate pizza following a press conference on that day, some in offices inside No 10 and others going into the garden. Some staff stayed drinking until late into the evening, they alleged.

Rules at the time allowed only two people from different households to meet outside, at a distance of 2 metres. Earlier that evening, Matt Hancock, then health secretary, had urged people to “stay at home as much as is possible” and asked them to “please stick with the rules, keep an eye on your family and don’t take risks” during the period of good weather.
