Fifteen new cases of coronavirus confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY.

Today's bank rate:
1 GBP = € 1.1324
1 USD = € 0.8584

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

British Woman with “Covid Antidote” Arrested in Greece

A British national, heading an establishment called the “Ministry of Remedies,” offering what she told people were Covid-19 antidotes in Arachova, Greece was arrested on Wednesday.

The woman’s purported “Ministry of Remedies” offers the public a so-called Covid-19 antidote. The establishment’s signage says that it is “drug and tax-free.” The Ministry of Remedies does not accept currency such as euros or dollars but instead something called “Kindness Credit.”

The British woman has been living permanently in Arachova for the last few years. When she is out in public, she wears a blue robe and a stole, brandishing the official seal of the Universal Law Community Trust. When questioned about her apparel she has stated “It’s my formal attire as a minister when I go out, because universal law prevails over the rest.”

Anyone who's into Microsoft Flight Simulator might be interested to  know that Scenic Routes are likely to release a Kefalonia airport add-on, according to twinfinite.net

Anyone who's interested in flight sims might like to "Take off and Land your Spitfire 40 minutes with combat" at the Spitfireclub.co.uk.

Not bad for £80. For a little more, well about £200,000 more, you could buy a DIY replica or, for about a £1,000,000 more, a reconstructed Spitfire. Of course, if you want to splash out a bit over £4,000,000 you might be lucky enough to get an original, restored Spitfire.

Boris Johnson’s standards adviser on brink of quitting over Downing Street flat
Lord Geidt considering his position after Prime Minister allegedly misled him over refurbishment

Boris Johnson's standards adviser was on the brink of quitting on Thursday night following accusations that the Prime Minister misled him over the refurbishment of his Downing Street flat.

The Telegraph understands Lord Geidt will consider his position if Mr Johnson does not satisfactorily explain why he did not share vital evidence with him when he investigated the affair earlier this year.

On Thursday, the Electoral Commission fined the Conservative Party £17,800 for breaking rules on reporting donations after its own investigation – which included the "missing" evidence – found Mr Johnson had asked a Tory donor to fund the makeover.

Not ‘serial killer’ but foxes behind cat mutilations in London, study finds
Scientists find clear link between the mutilations and the presence of fox DNA on the dead cats

Foxes, and not a human serial killer, were responsible for a spate of mutilated cats found in London between 2014 and 2018, says a new study that provides crucial evidence on the so-called “Croydon cat killer” case.

Seems the Argostoli Christmas 'tree' (metal structure cone) was illuminated quietly a few days ago. I thought this was to prevent the spread of coronanvirus but seems not, a public event of some kind is planned for 15 December.

Looks like the concrete surface panels on the very recently repaired bridge at Agia Barbara, Argostoli, are starting to disintegrate. Not an expert but I think it's the same type of surface as used on the even more recently repaired Bailey bridge over the Vohinas river in Poros. Time will tell...

Downing Street Christmas party cancelled amid fury over 2020 event

This year's 10 Downing Street Christmas party has been cancelled amid growing anger over a gathering that occurred last December when London was under strict Covid restrictions.

But Boris Johnson has declared his full confidence in communications chief Jack Doyle, after it emerged that he had spoken at last year's event.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-59606793

So Boris is supporting Jack Doyle, who spoke (and gave out pressies) at a party Boris denies took place. Sorry Jack but, like Allegra Stratton, you'll be thrown under a bus.

They should make mobile phones so that they can only take videos in landscape mode, anyone making a video in portrait mode should have the choice of getting shot, or only being allowed to watch their tv set stood on its end, the same people probably wear masks with their nose sticking out!
