Eighty five coronavirus cases confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, four on Ithaka

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8680 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.1383 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1521 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8785 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Ukraine war: Boris Johnson sparks fury after comparison to Brexit

Boris Johnson has been criticised for comparing the struggle of Ukrainians fighting Russia's invasion to people in Britain voting for Brexit.

In a speech he said Britons, like Ukrainians, had the instinct "to choose freedom" and cited the 2016 vote to leave the EU as a "recent example".

Conservative peer Lord Barwell said the referendum wasn't "comparable with risking your life" in a war.

And Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey said it was an "insult" to Ukrainians.

Addressing the Conservative party's spring conference in Blackpool earlier, the prime minister said: "I know that it's the instinct of the people of this country, like the people of Ukraine, to choose freedom, every time.

"I can give you a couple of famous recent examples.

"When the British people voted for Brexit in such large, large numbers, I don't believe it was because they were remotely hostile to foreigners.

"It's because they wanted to be free to do things differently and for this country to be able to run itself."

Leave      17,410,742    51.89%
Remain    16,141,241    48.11%

If "large, large numbers" voted to leave almost as large, large numbers voted to remain.

And BoJo seems to miss the point that Ukraine wants to join the EU. Hey ho.
