Forty four new coronavirus cases confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, one on Ithaka

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8598 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.1251 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1631 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8888 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

UK long Covid cases reach 1.7 million in record high, ONS estimates show

And nearly 800,000 people have lived with the condition for more than a year, according to the Office for National Statistics

Despite the mounting threat posed by the condition, with research under way to better understand how it develops and which groups are more vulnerable, efforts to treat patients are stalling.

The NHS has established a network of long Covid clinics but the latest data show that, between 20 December and 16 January, only 4,401 patients in England received “specialist assessments” at these centres.

Greece’s Tourism Body Tables Actions to Regulate Airbnb-type Rentals

VAT, a special municipal tax, a property cap and rental time limits are among the actions Greece’s tourism stakeholders are demanding from the government in an attempt to regulate Airbnb-style activities which, they say, are distorting healthy market competition.

The Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), representing the majority of Greece’s tourism enterprises, is once again calling on the government to take immediate action and amend the law which covers short-term rental operations in order to ensure fair play and protect tax-paying businesses.

Bit of disagreement at yesterday's Argostoli council meeting regarding the pedestrianisation of Skala main street. Outcome was the majority found it beneficial to tourism and decided for six months of the year (May-October inclusive?) it will operate as a pedestrian thoroughfare with deliveries to businesses restricted to between the hours of 06:00-12:00
