Fourteen new coronavirus cases confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, one on Ithaka

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8688 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.0800 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1510 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9259 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

‘Heat battery’ invention could make millions of homes gas-free

Researchers believe they can make millions of homes in Europe gas-free in the near future, after inventing a “heat battery” based on salt and water.

The team from Eindhoven University of Technology say their cheap, compact battery system is ready for real-world tests and will be a “game-changer for energy transition”.

The heat battery is based on an old thermochemical principle, which is that when water is added to salt it produces heat. The reverse is also possible, whereby heat can be used to evaporate the water, thus storing the heat energy inside the salt.

Storing heat within dry salt makes the battery completely loss-free, providing an incredibly efficient way to store energy for future use. This is particularly useful when energy supply is coming from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, which tend to fluctuate significantly and therefore require gas or other sources to suplement them.

Microsoft Word is censoring you by altering your politically incorrect language
Technology giant joins Google in rolling out an inclusive language function, which encourages you to choose more acceptable words

A document editing tool launched by computer giant Microsoft has been criticised for advising writers to type “assigned female at birth”, rather than “biologically female”....
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/04/30/microsoft-word-censoring-altering-politically-incorrect-language/

Hm, if it "encourages you" I'm not sure that's censoring your writing and I think it's an option that's available. Not that it would be an option I'd choose. Just tried a short sentence in LibreOffice and it accepted "biologically female" without quibble.
