Nineteen new coronavirus cases confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY, nine on Ithaka

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8665 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.0873 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1541 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9197 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

EasyJet apologises after falsely telling passengers: ‘Your Ehic card is worthless’

Britain’s biggest budget airline has been providing bizarre and inaccurate information to passengers about entitlement to free medical treatment.

An easyJet passenger contacted The Independent after he communicated with the airline ahead of a forthcoming trip to Thessaloniki in Greece.

He was sent what appeared to be a standard document, including a warning to British travellers, saying: “The European Health Insurance Card (Ehic) will not be considered valid from 1 January 2021.”

The assertion is completely wrong. All Ehics issued to British travellers continue to be valid for the provision of urgent medical care anywhere in the European Union until the card’s expiry date.

Don't punish us for Westminster's mistakes, say Tories battling to keep partygate away from the ballot boxes
At least 400 candidates will run as "Local Conservative" on the ballot paper, in a bid to separate their campaigns from the national party

Local Tories are telling voters not to "punish" them for "mistakes" in Westminster as they distance themselves from Boris Johnson and the partygate scandal....

Valid message but maybe they should have done more (er, something) to get the Johnson is a lying liability message across to  Whitehall - and the electorate - well before today?

'Out of touch' minister George Eustice is slammed for telling struggling families to buy own-brand 'value' supermarket food to help them cope with the cost of living crisis
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10781209/George-Eustice-tells-struggling-families-buy-brand-food-cost-living-crisis.html

Perhaps George is applying to Mastermind, specialist subject: the bleedin' obvious. Apart from the fact that many people buy 'value' food already, I'm thinking he might not be a cat lover/ owner. Trying to get your cat to eat anything other than what they are accustomed to and like...
