Protest against the Yulin dog meat festival, but don't forget the 1.9m animals who are brutally slaughtered in the UK every month

*Might* be a good time to book a holiday in Greece, various reports that some travel companies are offering as much as 50% off. No idea if these are genuine discounts or a 'DFS sale'.

While this is true there is a distinction between the treatment of animals before "humane" slaughter in the UK and what happens in Yulin

Anything that keeps dog dirt off the streets, parks and kiddies play areas can only be a good thing, perhaps we should eat the irresponsible dog owners, plenty fat ones around.

Seems the police on Kef are checking businesses in tourist areas for infringements, recently an arrest was made for musical noise pollution and yesterday the beach facilities outside Regina Dell Acqua got a good going over with a tape measure.

Follow-up on that: police yesterday arrested seven business owners/managers in Elios-Pronnoi (Skala-Katelios-Poros area) for "illegal occupation of the foreshore". No names mentioned.

I didn't know there were "beach facilities" outside Plastic Rocks.  I though once you were in there you stayed until the coach came to get you out.

And I hope that music based arrest isn't anything to do with Jerry's livelyhood again.

Posh sunbeds and two little sentry boxes, not sure if they were there last year or not, nor what they are, look too small for changing cubicles or loos.

Not exactly the best part of Skala beach and when we were there last every time a lorry went past the "Four Poster Beds" were enveloped in dust .Same with all the people sunbathing outside Tessa Bleu on that corner. Goodness knows what it is like in the heat of July? By the way does anyone stay at the "Flintstones Palace"?, there never seems to be anyone around? I have heard of people who have been for a coffee just to have a nosy round and they say it is very nice but it looks just like it did over the many years they were constructing it Soulless!! I reckon the person who drew up the plans must have been on the magic mushrooms its such a concoction of styles and buildings, still whatever turns you on.!

The sentry boxes are changing rooms, there is one on Mounda Beach and have seen people using it.

Several dotted along Skala beach, *seem* to be outside the hotels that have sunbeds on the beach  :dunno:

We've have one on Agia Barbara beach in Katelios since last year!
