Haven't got the full story but heard of a collision between two inflatable dinghies somewhere near Spetses, possibly one belonging to tourists and one containing migrants. At least two deaths.

Major power failure affects homes and transport

Nearly a million people have been affected by a major power cut across large areas of England and Wales, affecting homes and transport networks.

National Grid said it was caused by issues with two power generators but the problem was now resolved.

Blackouts were reported across the Midlands, the South East, South West and North East of England, and Wales.

Kefalonia Fisheries gets a mention in undercurrent.news, not the most interesting article to read but seems they are expanding.

Latest I've heard a powerful 12 metre inflatable dinghy containing ten French tourists ploughed through a small wooden fishing boat about 350 metres offshore of Porto Heli (mainland opposite Spetses). The two dead are fishermen, a woman on the boat was seriously injured. Details still a little unclear but sounds as though the dinghy operator/pilot did a runner after the crash.

Brexit: Email slip-up reveals no-deal fishing patrol 'uncertainty'

There is "a lot of uncertainty" about the UK's capacity to patrol fishing waters after a no-deal Brexit, a memo from a government department mistakenly emailed to the BBC says.

The note says there are just 12 ships "to monitor a space three times the size of the surface area of the UK".

Populations of the great beasts that once dominated the world’s rivers and lakes have crashed in the last 50 years, according to the first comprehensive study.

Some freshwater megafauna have already been declared extinct, such as the Yangtze dolphin, and many more are now on the brink, from the Mekong giant catfish and stingray to India’s gharial crocodiles to the European sturgeon. Just three Chinese giant softshell turtles are known to survive and all are male. Across Europe, North Africa and Asia, populations have plunged by 97% since 1970.

Minister: Checks on leisure craft intensified this summer

Shipping Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis expressed his deep regret on Saturday over a boating accident on Friday that left two people dead and one seriously injured, noting that checks on speedboats and other leisure craft have intensified this summer.

He said that although checks take place throughout the year, they have intensified this summer due to an increase in traffic.

Excise Tax and High VAT Make Beer Expensive in Greece

Beer in Greece is among the most expensive products in the European Union because of high excise tax and a 24 percent value-added tax.

According to the current European Commission Directive, each Member State is required to impose a minimum excise tax of 1.87 euros per 100 liters, which translates to about 0.03 euros per 300 ml of finished product, ie in each can or small bottle of beer with 5 percent alcohol, which is the most common.

However, as the Tax Foundation study shows, only a few countries are satisfied with the minimum excise tax. Most of them tax beer higher, with Greece being among the first on the list.

Actually it's not much of a story when you read the article.  Brits pay more tax!

Quote
The Finnish pay the highest excise tax on beer, namely 0.60 euros per bottle, while in 6th place – behind Ireland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Estonia – is Greece where excise tax is 0.21 euros per 330 ml can or bottle.
