12 Hours for Greece is an initiative launched by a group of Belgian and Greek citizens established in Brussels aimed at addressing to the Greek people a sign of solidarity and friendship. The event attracts each year over 2,500 people, and is widely publicised in Belgian, Greek and international media. The 2014 event  will be organised under the auspices of the Greek Presidency of the European Union.

The objective of the event is twofold : Firstly, to present a lively and positive image of Greece and its people, on the occasion of a cultural and festive event; secondly, to support financially a charity project (past beneficiaries include Hamogelo tou Paidiou, Médecins sans Frontières-Greece, Make a Wish-Greece and ELEPAP, the Hellenic association for handicapped children). The benefits of the 2014 edition will go to associations supported by the International Foundation for Greece.

Researchers have found evidence of the world that crashed into the Earth billions of years ago to form the Moon.

Analysis of lunar rock brought back by Apollo astronauts shows traces of the "planet" called Theia.

The researchers claim that their discovery confirms the theory that the Moon was created by just such a cataclysmic collision.

That's ridiculous!!! Ask any Greek priest and they will tell you that the Earth is 6,000 years old - it says so in the Bible.  And that can't possibly be wrong, now can it???!!!

Two open-air cinemas in Greece, one in Plaka (Athens) and one on Santorini, are included in The Guardian’s “Top 10 open-air cinemas in Europe” list. The list was compiled following a survey among readers of the UK newspaper.
