The deadline for the submission of expressions of interest in the tender launched for the privatization of Greece’s regional airports is expected to be extended until the end of July, according to media reports.

The tender concerns two groups of regional airports that will be conceded for a period of 40 years with the possibility of an extension for another 10 years. The two groups of airports are the following:

- Group A concerns the airports of Thessaloniki, Chania, Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Aktio and Kavala.

The airports of Zakynthos, Santorini, Lesvos, Mykonos, Samos, Kefalonia, Preveza and Kavala welcomed some four million arrivals last year and it is estimated that around 95 million euros will need to be invested to upgrade their infrastructure.
