Seem to be experiencing power cuts. Haven't heard of any industrial action, think it's just due to demand - lots of a/c units on! Was off for a while in Skala yesterday morning around 08:00 (just when our guys were trying to clean cars) and in Poros area earlier this afternoon.

Last month was the hottest May since global records began in 1880, according to data published in the United States.
The heat was fuelled by higher than normal ocean temperatures.
Experts believe there is a 70% chance of El Niño developing in 2014.
The two warmest years on record occurred during this temporary change in the climate of the Pacific Ocean.

They obviously didn't include Greece in their figures, because it was the coolest for at least 12 years!

Only 86 London homes for sale are affordable, Shelter report finds
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/only-86-london-homes-for-sale-are-affordable-shelter-report-finds-9561690.html
"...The report, which looked at more than 325,000 properties with at least two bedrooms for sale across England, warned of a "drought" in affordable housing when it found less than one in five of them (17.9 per cent) were financially viable to buy .for a household with children trying to get on the property ladder..."

Excuse my old fashioned view, but "getting on the property ladder" is something you do ahead of having children, and the added expense that brings.

And was it ever easy to buy a London property? My wife and I had to employ various devices and a clever accountant even way back in the 70's to secure a mortgage on our meagre first job salaries.

As headlines go, it's a bit daft. Obviously, London homes are affordable (to those who have that kind of money) or those astronomical prices couldn't be charged for them.

I'm waiting to see your weather figures for June - been a strange month (what I can remember of it)
