Kef fire risk 09/10/23: Low (https://civilprotection.gov.gr/arxeio-imerision-xartwn?field_imerominia_harti_value=10%2F09%2F2023)
Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.8911 GBP
1 €UR = $1.0880 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1222 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9191 €UR
Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the Post Office (https://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money).
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Bear alert issued in Meteora after cow mauled
Authorities in central Greece are warning nature enthusiasts in the broader area of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular year-round destination, to be on the lookout for bears or any traces that they may be in the vicinity.
The warning came after two cyclists came across a dead cow that had been gutted by a wild animal near the Monastery of Ypapanti.
Footprints around the dead animal pointed to a bear as the culprit.
