Questions remain about land registry money

The government moved quickly on Thursday to inject €66m into the country's land registry agency following revelations in Eleftherotypia that the organisation had effectively run out of cash, causing it to halt all operations and payments to creditors, despite the fact that it is supposed to have deposits of €250m from fees it collected from property owners.

A tourist is in intensive care after being attacked at a Bulgarian beach resort.

Adam Prosser, 27, of Fforestfach, Swansea, had been out for a meal with his girlfriend Kayley Harrison when she claims he was set upon by a group of men in Sunny Beach.

He had to fly home for treatment after doctors in Bulgaria refused to treat him without a health insurance card, reports the BBC.

He suffered swelling and bleeding on the brain and fractures to his skull.

Greek airports flooded with charter flights

As the peak of the tourism season approaches, charter flights to Greek destinations are on the rise, even from countries that until recently had no direct connections.

Last week Araxos Airport received its first charter flight from London, with 180 passengers on board. As of next summer there will be three weekly flights from the United Kingdom to Araxos, which serves the city of Patra and the western Peloponnese.
