Been mentioned before but new readers may not be aware of it, a website that bypasses paywalls on many websites: https://12ft.io/

All you never wanted to know about cookies: https://allaboutcookies.org

Best adblockers for Firefox: https://allaboutcookies.org/best-ad-blockers-for-firefox

Best adblockers for Google Chrome: https://allaboutcookies.org/best-ad-blockers-for-chrome

Might be worthwhile reading the short Advertiser Disclosure

Interesting which ones are recommended and which aren't.

There's a couple of test sites mentioned on the Firefox page, not sure about adblock-tester.com but coveryourtracks is OK.

Snopes.com is well known for fact checking but mostly US news and hoaxes.

FullFact.org is a UK-based registered charity that checks claims made by politicians, public institutions and journalists, as well as viral content online including Facebook posts. such as:

Two web sites that may be of interest:

Wayback Machine: pop an article's URL in search bar and click 'BROWSE HISTORY' then click on date.
If the web page has been archived it will display a copy of the page, eg: https://web.archive.org

archive.today works in a similar way, e.g. https://archive.ph/MDo2y

If the page hasn't been archived then the site will attempt to archive it - this may take a minute or two.

Might be of interest, especially to those of us old enough to remember the Sinclair ZX and Spectrum, BBC Micro and the like:

Various classic Spectrum games on archive.org including Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy and my favourite, Atic Atac.

No download required, games play in the browser.

You'll have to figure out the keys for yourself, except for Atic Atac which I've figured out as:

1. Keyboard: Q=left, W=right, E=down, R=up, T=fire, Z=pick up /drop
2. Kempston Joystick: Home=left, PgUp=up, PgDn=down, End=right, Ctrl=fire, Shift=pick up / drop
3. Cursor Joystick: ???

You'll need to use numbers on top row of keyboard, not on number pad.

An updated, 3D, free version of Atic Atac available for Windows, Mac and Linux: Melkhior's Mansion

I haven't been able to get the Linux version to work yet and don't use Windows or MacOS so try at own risk (of getting addicted).
