Fire leaping festival
Maik:
Annual festival of Agios Yiannis in Tzannata on evening of Monday, 23 June. Usual festivities: souvlaki stall, live music, Greeks dancing. And fire leaping.
TonyKath:
Hope you've got a thick pair of wellies, Maik!
Enjoy!
Tony
PS Just looked at the poster - does it mean you have to go to church first??!!!
Tony
Maik:
If you don't go to church you have to jump across the bonfire ;)
TonyKath:
Do they make it bigger for you??! :papa:
Tony
Maik:
Included a bit of pole dancing tonight - a coach load of Poles turned up from somewhere. Seemed to thoroughly enjoy the night. Almost thirty minutes past midnight and the band have just switched from Greek music to Kefalonian music... could be a late night an early morning.
