Greece launches search for missing small aircraft

A search and rescue operation was under way on Wednesday in western Greece for a small two-seater aircraft that went missing, Greek national news agency AMA-MPA reported.

An eye witness saw the single-engine aircraft disappearing in the sea area off Messolonghi town, according to early information by authorities.

It is still unclear whether there was a second passenger on board besides the pilot.

May's government survives no confidence vote

Theresa May has seen off a bid to remove her government, winning a no-confidence vote by 325 to 306.

Rebel Tory MPs and the DUP - who 24 hours ago voted down the PM's Brexit plan by a record margin - voted to keep her in Downing Street.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn argued that Mrs May's "zombie" administration had lost the right to govern during a six hour debate on his motion.

His party has not ruled out tabling further no-confidence motions.

Can't find any news of it in the 'News' section at ec.europa.eu but, allegedly, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy signed a Grant Agreement with the European Commission around 21 December to implement an eight year project on Climate Change Adaptation as part of the LIFE program. As a result, twelve sections of coastline around Kef and two on Ithaki will be monitored for coastal erosion. As yet no info on which bits. All subject to signing off by the Ionian Islands Regional Council.
