Today's bank rate:
1 GBP = €   1.1473
1 USD = €   0.8368

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Sir David Amess killing was terrorist incident, Met Police say

The killing of Conservative MP Sir David Amess has been declared a terrorist incident by police.

Sir David was stabbed multiple times at a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police said there was "a potential motivation linked to Islamist extremism".

A 25-year-old British man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, and police said they were not seeking anyone else over the death.

Government sources have told the BBC the man is a British national who, from initial inquiries, appears to be of Somali heritage.

So far today two flights due to land on Kef have been diverted due to bad weather. Neither from/to UK.

Be interesting to see Roger's results at month's end as I've heard Kef's rainfall for October is already the highest on record for this month.

Just an update on this, for obvious reasons i cannot give personal details, a relative could not get hold of him, so phoned the police, Sami police did an excellent job and got him to hospital, his family are with him and thank the police for their prompt action, best wishes for a recovery.
