Oki Day

Six new cases of coronavirus confirmed on Kefalonia yesterday by EODY

Kef fire risk 28/10/21: Low

Today's bank rate:
1 GBP = € 1.1534
1 USD = € 0.8356

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:
This is an overall forecast, due to the mountainous terrain the weather can be very localised.

Government's broken triple lock promise costs pensioners £2,500
Pensioners have been 'left out in the cold' as inflation will outpace pension increase

The controversial decision to break the state pension “triple lock” will save HM Treasury £30.5bn over the next five years, equivalent to stripping every pensioner of almost £2,500.

More than 12 million pensioners will have their spending power reduced next year thanks to rising inflation, as the state pension will rise by 3.1pc rather than the true rate of inflation. The Office for Budget Responsibility has estimated inflation will average 4pc in the next year.

I've discovered my dream job. I want to be a policeman in 1960's Aidensfield. PC Bradley rides a 650cc BSA A10 on duty, a 650cc T120 Bonneville off duty and today the Sir Nigel Gresley stopped at Aidensfield. Life's not fair.

But I would miss the internet. Mind you, might've been interesting to see Corfu before mass tourism.

ahh, the Bonneville . I remember at school we used to buy the Exhange & Mart every Thursday and spend the rest of the day drooling over the Bonnevilles for sale picking the ones we would buy when we were older and had money. I'm older now but don't have the money.

Been keeping my eye on prices, you can get any number of Triumph Sprint for a lot less than a Bonneville - probably 'cos they ain't a Bonneville.

Then you've got to get the leathers, the skid lid(s), the sunshine...

Oh well!

Tried that. Had a hunt around and thought I found something. It had gold and amber colours. Turn out it was a half-sucked Werther's Original Chewy Toffee.
