Morning Mike, and thanks for the calculator link.

Transpires I'm Feb to Mar. We'll see.

Does Omni's assumption of 1m jabs a week sound a tad optimistic to anyone else?

I'm one of those considered At Risk, and if you remember my post at the start of March, I revealed I'd been told during a February consultation to "go home, isolate until October possibly December, but certainly until a vaccine was available."

My consultant was spot on, eh?

Bit worrying therefore that in a recent telephone consultation he recommends continued caution and mask wearing until at least 2022

He cited several concerns;
Jab is less than 100% effective
anti-vaxxers
Unknown period of protection
Unknown effectiveness against inevitable variants

Taken together he believes Covid will continue to be rampant for a considerable time yet.

Happy New Year!

Just a tad.

Reckon your doc could be right - covid could be around for a while yet.

Was Greek Philosopher Diogenes the Cynic the First Anarchist?

Reads like he was a bit of a whack job, but quite an interesting read if you're not aware of Diogenes the Cynic.

Google Maps Creator Moving to Greece to Start Hi-Tech Project

Google Maps creator Lars Rasmussen has announced he is moving to Greece in January 2021 to create a new start-up enterprise.

Rasmussen, of Danish origin, who is currently based in New York, says he is moving to Athens with his team to further develop a new project called Weav, described as the only running app that automatically keeps the music you hear in sync with your footsteps in real time.

The tech maven’s move to Greece with his Greek wife, high-tech executive Elomida Visviki, is seen as an important development for the country, which has been trying to attract high-flying digital nomads and cutting-edge technology companies.
