The suspected monkeypox case reported in Greece was not confirmed by lab tests, the Hellenic National Public Health Organization (EODY) informs.
"In a laboratory examination of a sample from the suspicious case of the man who is being treated at Attikon Hospital, no monkeypox virus was detected, while the sample was positive in two repeated tests for the chickenpox virus (varicella - chickenpox)," EODY said on Sunday.

Good news if correct but that's unconfirmed at time of posting. Results of tests were/are due later today.

British tourist tests negative for monkeypox
A 29-year-old British tourist at the Greek capital’s Attiko Hospital in Haidari has tested negative for monkeypox but positive for chickenpox.
The patient, Greece’s first suspected case of monkeypox, was transferred to hospital from the island of Kefalonia on Saturday after developing the rash associated with the disease.
Results from a second sample are expected Monday.

UK millionaire Phil White said: "While the rest of the world is collapsing under the weight of an economic crisis, billionaires and world leaders meet in this private compound to discuss turning points in history.
"It's outrageous that our political leaders listen to those who have the most, know the least about the economic impact of this crisis, and many of whom pay infamously little in taxes. The only credible outcome from this conference is to tax the richest and tax us now."
The charity Oxfam, which issues a report on inequality during the Davos forum each year, claims that over the last two years a new billionaire had been created every 30 hours.
At the other end of the income spectrum, Oxfam expects around one million people to fall into extreme poverty every 33 hours this year.

Bit of a flap about landing slots at Kef airport. Apparently slots are allocated by Andravida air control over on the mainland near Kyllini and are limited to six per hour shared equally between Kefalonia and Zakynthos. This limits total flights per week. Now Zakynthos are wanting some of Kef's allocation, this is what the flap's about.
Not sure but I think Zakynthos airport operates 24/7 in summer whereas Kef still has a ban on night flights (thankfully, IMO).

No truth in the rumour, so I've heard, that Simon Case will be staying at a villa between Skala-Poros although it might be a good idea as there's no bus for him to be thrown under. And the lack of a Poros-Skala-Katelios service is a bit of an issue locally - but not a new one, seems to happen most years. Maybe it's just too early, or maybe it doesn't get used enough.

Exclusive: Prime Minister Boris Johnson pictured drinking at Downing Street party during lockdown
Photographs obtained by ITV News cast fresh doubt on the Prime Minister’s claims that he was unaware of rule-breaking in Downing Street during the pandemic.
The four images show the Prime Minister raising a glass at a leaving party on 13th November 2020, with bottles of alcohol and party food on the table in front of him.
The latest revelation raises further questions about why the Metropolitan Police did not fine the Prime Minister for attending the party, while others present did receive a Fixed Penalty Notice.
But it also casts doubt on Boris Johnson’s repeated claims made in the House of Commons and elsewhere that all rules were followed in No 10 and that he had been unaware of any law-breaking parties.
On 1st December 2021, he told MPs “all guidance was followed completely in No 10.”
And on 8th December, he again told MPs “I have been repeatedly assured since these allegations emerged that there was no party and that no Covid rules were broken”, before stating in a Downing Street press conference later that day that “all the evidence I can see is that people in this building have stayed within the rules.”
Yet the photographs show Boris Johnson standing next to aides, looking and smiling at them while they hold glasses of alcohol, with the Prime Minister himself raising his glass in what appears to be a toast.
