Hmmm, been past Skorpios a few times, never seen a drawbridge - it would have to be damn long if there was one - although Levkas itself is connected to the mainland via a floating bridge. There's no airport on Levkas, nearest airport is Aktion outside Preveza.

Hotelier arrested on Mykonos for illegal construction
Police on Mykonos have arrested a 71-year-old businessman for carrying out illegal construction on a hotel he owns near Loulos Beach, on the popular holiday island’s southeastern coast.
Officers also arrested four foreign nationals and a Greek man who appear to have been employed by the 71-year-old to actually carry out the work, for which the proper license had not been granted.
The 71-year-old faces additional charges for employing one of the foreign nationals – a 42-year-old Albanian man – even though he did not have a residence permit or social security.

Over the sea to Skye on the world’s last turntable ferry
The MV Glenachulish is the world’s last manually-operated turntable ferry.
Its unique design allows it to navigate the challenging tidal conditions of the Kylerhea Narrows between the Scottish mainland and the Isle of Skye.
Up to six cars can be transported on the Glenachulish's deck, which the crew rotate by hand when it reaches its slipway.
The vessel - which is more than 50 years old - was saved in 2007 when it was bought by the local community after its long-term skipper retired.

Austria says talks under way on returning Parthenon marbles to Greece
A Vienna museum is in talks aimed at lending two marble pieces of the Parthenon to Greece, Austria’s foreign minister said on Tuesday, a development his Greek counterpart said he hoped would help in talks with Britain over its much larger hoard.
The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna has a tiny collection of marbles – just two fragments from the Parthenon’s northern frieze. But Greece hopes that with each agreement to return pieces to Athens there will be growing “positive momentum” in talks on returning pieces being kept elsewhere.

Bid to re-home elderly blind dog and his best friend Tilly
An elderly dog is looking for somewhere to live out his "final few months" in comfort.
Shadow, 18, is blind and deaf but still enjoys following scents and going for rides in his pram.
Along with his best friend Tilly, 15, he is looking for a loving home with no other pets, after being taken in by Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
Shadow and Tilly have known each other all their lives and curl up asleep together under their blankets.
Bath Cats and Dogs Home said it would not charge an adoption fee for Shadow, who likes to potter about but cannot walk far.
The home posted an appeal on Twitter in a bid to re-home the pair.

Websites churn out content, often advancing false narratives, to saturate with adverts, says anti-misinformation firm
Chatbots pretending to be journalists have been discovered running almost 50 AI-generated “content farms” so far, according to an investigation by the anti-misinformation outfit NewsGuard.
The websites churn out content relating to politics, health, environment, finance and technology at a “high volume”, the researchers found, to provide rapid turnover of material to saturate with adverts for profit.

Google will remove secure website indicators in Chrome 117
Google announced today that the lock icon, long thought to be a sign of website security and trustworthiness, will soon be changed with a new icon that doesn’t imply that a site is secure or should be trusted.
While first introduced to show that a website was using HTTPS encryption to encrypt connections, the lock symbol is no longer needed given that more than 99% of all web pages are now loaded in Google Chrome over HTTPS.
These also include websites used as landing pages in phishing attacks or other malicious purposes, designed to take advantage of the lock icon to trick the targets into thinking they're safe from attacks.
"This misunderstanding is not harmless — nearly all phishing sites use HTTPS, and therefore also display the lock icon," Google said.
"Misunderstandings are so pervasive that many organizations, including the FBI, publish explicit guidance that the lock icon is not an indicator of website safety."

Loneliness as dangerous as smoking, says US surgeon general
A top US health official has warned the country is facing an epidemic of loneliness that is as dangerous to health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
The Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, has released an advisory calling for social isolation to be treated as seriously as obesity or drug abuse.
