Mykonos beach club set to lose license
The operation of the popular Principote beach club on the island of Mykonos has been suspended after a unanimous decision by an extraordinary meeting of the Municipality of Mykonos’ Quality of Life Committee on Wednesday afternoon.
At the same time, preparations for demolitions on the island are continuing, based on earlier demolition protocols.

Beach bar manager in Rhodes arrested for illegal construction
A 70-year-old man, manager of a well-known beach bar on the Greek island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, was arrested on Wednesday for illegal construction on a beach and operating a business without a license.
Police discovered that the man had installed an outdoor kitchen with grills, an oven, and metal chimneys on a beach at the northern coast of the island. He had also built a bar with a deck and placed 355 table seats and 85 umbrellas with two sunbeds each.
He had not obtained a permit for any of these activities.

Animal Cruelty In Filiatra: Man Hangs A Dog On A Tree And Danced Around The Corpse
A dog in Filiatra in the Peloponnese was the victim of unthinkable animal cruelty. After beating the dog to death and hanging the body from a tree, he then played folk music and danced half-naked around the lifeless corpse.
The video published by Proto Thema shows the unimaginable cruelty to the animal, which occurred at 6 pm on May 1.
The video was taken by an eyewitness, who also called a police car. Police officers rushed to the scene but did not manage to find the man, who had already disappeared!

The little fishing harbour of Agia Pelagia yesterday hosted forty fishermen from various parts of Greece on a two day conference in Kyllini on the subject of Fishing Tourism. Seems that, so far, Kefalonia leads the way.
