Greece: More Local Traditions Inscribed on National Intangible Cultural Heritage List

Greece has added seven traditional practices on its National Intangible Cultural Heritage list. All traditions originate from popular island and mainland destinations.

Announced recently by the Culture Ministry, the news follows the inscription on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list of 15 traditions, customs and events, during the last two months.

The ‘zeibekiko’ dance and the popular musical instruments ‘bouzouki’, ‘tzouras’ and ‘baglamas’ have have been included on Greece’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, the Greek Culture Ministry recently announced.
