Kef fire risk 07/09/22: Medium (https://www.civilprotection.gr/el/imerisios-hartis-provlepsis-kindynoy-pyrkagias-07092022)
Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8895 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.0218 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1242 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9787 €UR
Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the Post Office (https://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money).
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Unlike the pigments in most human's skins while the pigments used in paints, particularly older/ancient ones fade particularly in the sun. Entropy strikes again.

Greece to tap tourism revenues to keep subsidising power bills
Greece plans to tap higher than expected revenues from tourism this year, the country’s biggest cash-earner, to keep subsiding power bills, the government spokesman said on Monday.
Government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou said that tourism receipts this year are seen beating the sector’s record performance in 2019, topping 18.2 billion euros ($18.1 billion).
Those revenues are seen helping Greece finance part of the subsidies it has offered to households and businesses since last year to relieve the burden from rising energy costs after Russia curbed gas supplies to Europe.

Municipalities in Greece may grant an extension beyond the end-September deadline for the removal of extra restaurant tables and chairs in public areas, which had been placed outside due to coronavirus restrictions.
The Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE) will meet on Friday regarding the possibility of an extension.

Not sure how many on Kef will be affected, in resorts many seem to have permanent(?) kioskis / big umbrellas :dunno:
