Two severely decomposed bodies found in bags floating off Greek islandMystery surrounds two rotting bodies that were found floating off the coast of a popular Greek holiday island.The grim discovery of the bodies – one adult and one teenager – was made by a tourist who spotted two white bags in the water, The US Sun reports.The man from Italy, who was the captain of a passing yacht, saw the two bags at Fykio beach on Koufonisi in the Cyclades island chain in Greece.He immediately alerted the authorities and the Greek coast guard rushed to the scene.Officials brought the remains to shore and transferred them to a hospital on neighbouring Naxos island, local media reports.Director of the hospital’s Medical Service Vassilis Raptakis claims the bodies belonged to an adult and a teenager who are understood to have been dead for over a year.Both bodies were severely decomposed to the point that they were mainly skeletons.It is not known if the bodies were male or female.They were decomposed to such an extent that it wasn’t initially clear if they belonged to a human or an animal.The remains will be transferred to the Forensic Service of Piraeus for an autopsy.

Ioannina man arrested over animal abuse chargesA 63-year-old man in Ioannina, north-eastern Greece, was arrested on Sunday over animal abuse charges after he allegedly dragged a donkey that was tied to the bed of his pickup truck. The man was arrested at home by police officers from the closest precinct.Investigations into the case are ongoing, with the suspect stating that the situation was an accident and that he had not intention of harming the animal.
