Kef fire risk 21/09/22: Medium

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.9002 GBP
1 €UR = $ 1.0286 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1109 €UR
$1 USD = 0.9722 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:

Given that Kef isn't short of hills I thought a Red Bull -type soapbox derby might be fun:

- but getting the things here could be a bit difficult  :hmm:

So, as Kef is rather popular with the mature market...

Walking football. Ideal for October / April; shorts, T-shirt and trainers all that's required... maybe a towel.

Record triple lock boost to drag half a million pensioners into tax trap

Almost one million pensioners will be forced into paying income tax in the next two years as a result of the Government’s stealth tax freezes.

Around 900,000 people are expected to be dragged over the personal allowance – the amount everyone can earn without paying income tax – as the state pension is on track to rise by a record 10pc, former pensions minister Sir Steve Webb has warned.

Whale stranding: 230 whales stranded on Tasmanian beach

More than 200 whales have been found stranded on a remote beach on the west coast of Tasmania, Australia.

Half of the pod, thought to be pilot whales, are believed to be still alive. Rescuers are being sent to the area.

It's unclear what caused the whales to beach on a sandflat at the entrance to Macquarie Harbour, the same remote location where Australia's worst stranding occurred two years ago.

It comes a day after a separate mass stranding in northern Tasmania.

Think a Red Bull Soapbox challenge would be great.
Off subject, I always love to see the farmer (I think) in Katelios going out with his missus on his
little converted tractor thingy, she sits there so proudly during their little promenade.  :)
