How do you shift a one-tonne walrus? Lifeboat crews seek advice on moving ‘Wally’ in emergency
Rescue crews in Wales have sought advice from marine experts on how to safely move a giant walrus amid concerns it could prevent the lifeboat from launching in an emergency.
The Arctic creature - nicknamed 'Wally' - has taken to lounging on the slipway used to launch the boat at Tenby in Pembrokeshire, where it refuses to budge.
Lifeboat crews attempting to launch for a test rescue mission this week found themselves having to persuade the walrus to move out of their path first.

Rail services to come under unified state control
The government has announced the biggest shake-up in the UK's railways since privatisation in the mid-1990s.
It will see the creation of a new state-owned body, Great British Railways (GBR), which will set timetables and prices, sell tickets in England and manage rail infrastructure.
After years of complaints, it aims to offer improved services, better value tickets and more accountability.
But private operators will still be contracted to run most trains.

Fire fighters evacuate more as forest fire spreads to Attica region
Greek authorities moved more people to safety on Thursday as firefighters battled a forest fire that spread from the Corinth region of southern Greece to western Attica, they said.
No deaths were reported in the blaze that broke out on Wednesday night in a forest at a small seaside holiday resort at the Corinth Gulf on the Peloponnese peninsula, about 90 km from the capital, Athens.
Six villages and two monasteries in the Gerania mountains were evacuated, while residents at another village were told on Thursday to leave their homes as the blaze, fanned by strong winds, moved eastward and crossed into western Attica.
Many Athenians woke up to the smell of fire and thin clouds of smoke could be seen from many parts of the city.
More than 180 firefighters were battling the blaze, backed by 62 fire trucks, 17 aircraft and three helicopters, the fire brigade said.
