Quote
Start at 07.00am at Pyrgi Village at the square of Agioi Pantoi Church in the area of Harkti.

We descend an asphalt road and after 550m we enter an uphill path. On the 3rd km where the edge of the fir forest is, we take a dirt road on the left. After 4,5 km at "Pigathia" area we reach the 1st stek of the race. We take a beautiful uphill path on the right and follow it for 3,5 km. We exit on a dirt road located at the 2nd stek. Then we take a left and mildly descend reaching the 3rd stek on the 12th km at Petasi or Kissos area. We enter a path on the right which leads to the beginning of mountain Ainos ridge. This part of the route is at 1500m altitude and it is probably the only island in the world with 8,5-km panoramic sea views. We go past "Megas Soros" (1628m) the highest peak of the mountain ending up at "Hionistra" area where the 4th stek is.

We continue on the mountain ridge path and in 3 km we reach the asphlat road. After 300m we turn left into a steep path which takes us to the lowest altitude west point of the route. It the most techical part of the route becoming steep, rocky and indistinct for 400m.

We come across a dirt road and turn right. In 700m on 27th km we reach the 5th stek. It is important to have a good water supply because we will turn right to enter a steep, sunny, uphill path with challenging terrain for 3 km and then through the fir forest to "Zea" area at the entrace of the national park where the 6th stek is.

We continue along a downhill path for 3km. We come across a dirt road on the right and at 37km we find the 7th stek. Turning left along a downhill path we reach the asphalt, pass by the villages of Tsakarisiano, Sofata and Digaleto and finally complete the race at the square where we started.

Ainos Mountain Marathon 42km Route

Ainos Trail Race 10km Route

Quote
The race starts from the north gate of Ainos at the position “Zea”. Then follows a beautiful downhill path in the fir forest for 3km.

Then we meet a dirt road on the right and at the 6th km we find the “Stek”. Here we turn left and from a downhill technical path that needs attention due to slippery points we reach the asphalt and passing through the settlements of Tsakarisiano, Sofata and Digaleto where we complete the race in the village square.
