What would we do without it. Apart from all the gross fakery PS can turn an average pic into a good one and a poor one into something just about acceptable. You can deal with contrast problems, colour casts, put backgrounds out of focus and get rid of small blemishes to mention just a few. It's when you use it you find out just how much scope for faking there really is. What the article doesn't mention is that it's extremely complex with so many options and effects that it is far from straightforward to use.

Many years ago Oxford University psychology department ran postgrad interviews. When candidates turned up there was some guy in the waiting room wearing a T shirt talking about how he was nervous about the interview etc and getting the candidates to make unguarded comments. When the interview time arrived the guy gets up and asks the candidates to come in and interviews them. Wouldn't be allowed these dates - not ethical. ;)

If you purchased a Lenovo laptop recently (we have observed reports of the Superfish cert from the Decentralized SSL Observatory as early as October 2014), you can check if your machine is vulnerable here (https://filippo.io/Badfish/).
