Kef fire risk 02/10/22: Medium

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.9298 GBP
1 €UR = $ 0.9852 USD
£1 GBP = 1.0755 €UR
$1 USD = 1.015 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Ten day weather forecast for Kefalonia:

Search and rescue operation mounted yesterday evening and fifty six migrants on board a sailing ship bound for Italy were picked up by the Singapore-flagged Ginga Hawk 33 nautical miles west of Kefalonia. The ship had been monitored by Coast Guard since morning but assistance declined until weather conditions at sea deteriorated. All on board in good health and taken to Igoumenitsa on Greek mainland where the Ginga Hawk was heading.

Minor drama in Poros port earlier today when a private yacht was in danger of being swept into the outer wall of the fishing shelter breakwater and was rescued by a catamaran exiting port at the same time.

I imagine that at present there will be quite a lot of voters in the UK who'd prefer the MPs to be kept in Athens permanently instead of the Marbles.

It's got its good parts, and even the bad parts don't deserve to have our MPs foisted upon them - surely that really would give the neighbourhood a bad name.
