Thomas Cook faces the prospect of a customer boycott and a sell-off of shares over its handling of the deaths of two children at a hotel in Corfu... the Times reported.

An inquest in Wakefield reached a verdict last week that they had been unlawfully killed because of an incorrectly maintained gas boiler, and accused the travel group of breaching its duty of care.

Cook agreed yesterday to make a £1.5 million donation to the children’s charity Unicef to reflect the amount of compensation it received from Greek hotel operator, Louis Group.

Copenhagen Mayor Frank Jensen will not allow the City of Copenhagen’s roughly 45,000 employees to use budget airline Ryanair for official travel, he announced on Sunday.

Jensen said that the wages the airline pays and its lack of a Danish collective bargaining agreement mean that his employees cannot book their tickets through Ryanair, even if they are the cheapest option.

“The City of Copenhagen does not accept social dumping. Therefore we don’t use firms like Ryanair or others that don’t offer their employees proper salaries and working conditions,” Jensen wrote on Facebook.

Looks like the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece will be celebrated in Keramies on 21 May with a memorial service at 10:00 followed by a parade at 10:15

Not sure about this but starting to hear mumblings that a 'financial scandal' is about to hit Kef, sounds like something to do with one of the officials of the Ionian Islands Regional Council

 :dunno:

Haven't got the full gist of this but sounds as though the funds of the Regional Council  have been seized by court order following the discovery that, er, there were no funds left in the account. Something to do with work commissioned by the Corfu Prefecture Development Corporation. 'Only' seems to affect Kef in the sense that it's a regional fund. Think possibly the court order was granted on request of a senior official from Kefalonia.
