Καλό μήνα

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8820 GBP   £1 GBP = 1.1337 €UR
1 €UR = $ 1.1065 USD   $1 USD = 0.8975 €UR
1 €UR = $ 1.6874 AUD   $1 AUD = 0.5926 €UR

Based on National Bank of Greece exchange rates.
Other banks likely to offer rates which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g. the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

No seats left on Easter ferries

Ferries will depart on Thursday and Friday with a 100% occupancy rate, to serve the Easter travelers, while there are very few airline seats that remain available on the Aegean Airlines network for trips either in Greece or abroad.

The particularly increased traffic for this Easter, higher than last year’s, also practically coincides with the start of the summer season for a very large part of the seasonal hotels which start opening from Wednesday, May 1. By the first week of June, the vast majority of Greek seasonal hotels are expected to have opened their doors.

Possibly seat sell out in Cyclades and Aegean but a little less so in Ionian, maybe  :dunno:

Latest I've heard: on Paska the opening hours for Melissani and Drogarati will be 10:00-12:00 Sunday, 05 May, for regular visitors and non-cruise ship passengers; 10:00-12:30 for cruise ship passengers.

Apple working to fix alarming iPhone issue

Apple says it is working to quickly fix an issue that caused some iPhone alarms not to play a sound, giving their slumbering users an unexpected lie-in.

For many people, their phone is an indispensable alarm clock and some over-sleepers turned to social media to vent.

One TikTokker complained that she had set "like five alarms" and they didn't go off.

Apple has confirmed it is aware of the issue - but is yet to spell out what it believes is causing it, or what users can do to avoid a late start.
