European parliament set to call for break-up of Google in antitrust case

But the European parliament lacks the authority to force a break-up of a company and any such proposal would meet stiff opposition from Google and the US.

Has the mystery of the 'Log Ness Monster' been solved?

A recent spate of Nessie sightings has flummoxed experts and locals alike.

After an unprecedented 18 months without a “confirmed sighting”, several people have come forward in the past few weeks with reports of mysterious beasts emerging from the waters of Loch Ness.

So, more than 80 years after the first modern sighting of Nessie, has the monster made a comeback?

Alas, the truth could be a little more mundane. The Woodland Trust conservation charity has come forward with an infuriatingly humdrum explanation – they’re just logs.

Eleven people were injured Saturday in a shooting inside a nightclub in a Piraeus port district in southeastern Greece, said local police authority.

Three of the injured were in serious condition, said the authority.

According to early information, an unidentified gunman entered the club in Mikrolimano of Piraeus armed with an automatic Kalashnikov rifle and then fired at staff members and customers.

After the shooting, the man managed to escape by taxi, according to eye witnesses.

Police sources said that investigators are examining whether the incident is linked to a similar shooting which occurred on Oct. 30 in a nightclub in a central Athens district.

In that case, a man died and a woman was injured when two men fired also with Kalashnikov rifles and fled by a car.

Police suspected that these cases are gang-related.
