Warning issued over spike in stomach flu cases

The Hellenic Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) on Wednesday issued an announcement noting a spike in recent weeks of cases of gastroenteritis, or stomach flu, in Greece and urged citizens to take basic precautions to avoid contagion.

Boss the cat discovered 200 miles away from home

A stowaway cat who travelled 200 miles away from his home still hasn't been claimed by his owner.

Boss was found meowing in the back of a van in Swanscombe, Kent, on 20 December.

The driver believes the black and white moggy crawled into his vehicle in either Birmingham or Telford, Shropshire.

Money has run out for staff at Marinopoulos

The money for the intermediary funding of bankrupt supermarket chain Marinopoulos – to ensure its operation until its takeover by Sklavenitis – has run out, leaving it unable to cover the December salaries of the 10,800 employees.

The employees have received their Christmas bonus as the law dictates.
