Amazon promises fix for creepy Alexa laugh

Amazon’s Alexa has been letting out an unprompted, creepy cackle - startling users of the best-selling voice assistant.

The laugh, described by some as “witch like” was reported to sometimes happen without the device being “woken” up.

Others reported the laugh occurring when they asked Alexa to perform a different task, such as playing music.

This reminded me of an incident many years ago when I had a record deck, amp, speakers etc. I was playing a record one day when I heard voices coming from the speakers that were definitely not part of the record. Scared the sh*t out of me the first time it happened but then after listening closer to these voices realised I was picking up the radio calls from the nearby Police Station.
