Internet speeds below what it says on the box

The average speed of internet connections in Greece has increased since last year but is still well below what is advertised, data from the Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) have shown.

Big surprise there, then

Botched penis enlargements: Papua New Guinea doctors warn of nationwide problem

Doctors in Papua New Guinea have warned of a “nationwide problem” of men injecting foreign substances, including coconut oil and silicone, into their penises in an attempt to make them bigger.

A doctor at the Port Moresby General Hospital said that over the last two years his clinic has treated at least 500 men with penile disfigurement and dysfunction as a result of injections.

Endangered turtle returns to beach to lay its eggs only to find runway has been built

A turtle which came ashore an island in the Maldives historically popular as a nesting site was seen laying her eggs in the middle of a new airport runway which has been built across what used to be a beach.

In what appears to be a stark illustration of the immediate impacts of habitat loss on wildlife, the green sea turtle – a species listed as endangered by the IUCN – is seen in the middle of the 2,200m (7,200ft) Maafaru runway on the atoll of Noonu, laying her eggs on the tarmac.

Sea turtles almost always return to the exact same beach where they were born to lay their clutches of eggs, sometimes taking epic, multi-year journeys to reach the same small patch of sand.

Court overturns referendum as voters were poorly informed ... in Switzerland
Incomplete detail and lack of transparency invalidated vote on tax laws, says supreme court

Switzerland’s supreme court has overturned a nationwide referendum for the first time in the country’s modern history, on the grounds that the information given to voters was insufficient.

In a ruling that may resonate in Britain, where remain campaigners have long argued that voters in the 2016 Brexit referendum were not adequately informed, the court said incomplete detail and a lack of transparency had violated the freedom of the vote, which could now be re-run.
