A rental boat with three passengers sank off Makrys Yialos beach yesterday afternoon. Coast guard vessel attended scene but passengers already picked up by passing local boats. No injuries and no marine pollution observed, sunken boat to be raised by owner. Preliminary investigation to be conducted by Argostoli Port Authority.

Woman arrested at borders on UK warrant listing her accompanying child as ‘missing’

A foreign national was arrested at Kipi, the border station with Turkey, when she tried to leave Greece with her underage child, which has been registered in the United Kingdom as “missing”.

The woman was arrested by passport control police belonging to the Alexandroupolis Directorate, on a Red Alert warrant issued by United Kingdom/Interpol under the category of “Crime against family/kidnapping and crimes against children”.

Unconfirmed: Allegedly a death earlier this afternoon of a swimmer in Poros.

Apparently a 54 y-o Irish tourist who - allegedly - had a bit too much to drink and unintentionally swallowed an overdose of sea water. Hauled out of the sea by lifeguards but declined hospital check-up.

I accidentally filmed a UFO in Kefalonia

I had to go full screen to see anything but blue sky. Could be a UFO (as in, Unidentified Flying Object) but I reckon it's rather speculative to think there's any alien life form involved. Spec of sand?
