Apparently the Argostoli water company has tripled the wages of its new boss, Stavros Spathi, to over 1,700€ (presumably per month?). Previously the job rewarded Nikos Anoustakis with 500€ for the same period, but with responsibility for the whole of Kef.

Travel firms ‘exaggerate Black Friday discounts’

Holidaymakers are being warned over potentially misleading Black Friday travel deals after claims last year’s event featured exaggerated or non-existent special offers.

Consumer group Which? said some of the deals advertised during the annual sales bonanza “aren’t always what they appear to be”.

The real estate map in Athens has turned upside down in the past few years, due to the growth of Airbnb and other short-stay lease platforms in the city. The ever-increasing power of Airbnb may indeed have given some owners a good income, but at the same time it has created serious social problems.

The main problem is that Airbnb has driven rent prices in Athens for Greek families, individuals and students so high that they are almost prohibitive for many.

I'd guess that €1,700 is per day, not per month.
per month that's €20.4k pa
per week, €88.4k pa
per day, €443.7k pa
I'd plump for the latter
