Latest news I've heard from Zakynthos concerns a pi**ed-up young Brit tourist who took a private ambulance for a 'joy ride', damaging several parked vehicles in the process. Fortunately, no injuries to innocent bystanders.

Heard the National Bank of Greece is to open a branch in Sami... maybe they could open one in Poros, too - and keep it open all year.

Eagle tries to carry off Australian boy

A wedge-tailed eagle tried to fly away with a terrified boy at a popular wildlife show in central Australia.

A crowd of stunned onlookers watched the enormous bird latch its talons on to the screaming boy's head during a show at Alice Springs Desert Park.

Witnesses said the bird attempted to pick him up "like a small animal".
