Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £ 0.8915 GBP   £1 GBP = 1.1217 €UR
1 €UR = $ 1.1272 USD   $1 USD = 0.8871 €UR
1 €UR = $ 1.6672 AUD   $1 AUD = 0.5998 €UR
1 €UR = R21.1162 ZAR   R1 ZAR = 0.0473 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Google fixes 8th Chrome zero-day exploited in attacks this year

The company fixed the zero-day bug for users... with patched versions rolling out worldwide to Windows users (120.0.6099.129/130) and Mac and Linux users (120.0.6099.129) one day after being reported to Google.

Even though the security update could take days or weeks to reach all users, according to Google, it was available immediately when BleepingComputer checked for updates earlier today.

Individuals who prefer not to update manually can rely on their web browser to automatically check for new updates and install them upon the next launch.

A taverna owner in Arachova has been publicly accused of the torture and murder of Oliver the Husky. Panagiotis Kaplanis denies the accusations and allegations that his storeroom contains dog skulls and other remains. Accusations so far seem without evidence, lawsuits to follow.

140,000 children will be homeless this Christmas as housing crisis worsens

More than 139,000 children in England will wake up on Christmas Day without a home.

It is the highest number on record.

They will open presents in a hostel or a bed and breakfast; a hotel room or a cramped, one-bedroom flat that isn’t their own.

They may have been staying there a few days; they may have been there for months, perhaps years, sharing a room with their siblings or a sofa bed with a parent.

They are England’s homeless children, trapped in temporary accommodation, and their number is growing.

They are the victims of ever-rising private rents, increasing use of no-fault eviction notices, and a failure over many decades by successive governments to build enough affordable homes.

Same-Sex Marriage On Hold, but Church of Greece Steadfast Against

Facing adamant opposition in his party, including the hierarchy, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has delayed a promise to bring same-sex marriage, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece also has reservations.

An Encyclical was issued in which the Church said while it doesn’t stand in the way of a civil marriage that it could not endorse a union in Church and that it’s also opposed to same-sex parenting.

Orthodox Times said the church clarified that it does not disagree with same-sex civil marriages as it is indifferent to the sex of couples and is something that does not concern Orthodox Christian tradition.

However, their concerns remain around parenting, which they disagree with because “it does not satisfy the rights of children to have both a father and a mother,” separating the concerns.
