Saudi Arabia players land safely at Rostov after plane caught fire in flight

Saudi Arabia’s plane has landed safely despite a terrifying incident when it caught fire during their flight to Rostov-on-Don for the World Cup game against Uruguay on Wednesday.

A statement from the airline, Rossiya, claimed that the preliminary cause of malfunction was a bird flying into the engine – but both were working on landing at Rostov-on-Don.

Bakewell pudding sent to the edge of space goes missing

A Bakewell pudding which was launched to the edges of space, with tracking devices attached, has gone missing.

Pupils at S. Anselm's Preparatory School in Derbyshire sent the dessert, which was attached to a high altitude balloon, flying on Monday to raise money for charity.

Tracking devices showed it had reached altitude of 16,000m (52,500ft) and was over Saxilby, near Lincoln, but the devices have since stopped working.

The school still hoped to find it.

Apparently, they used the toilet bowl to climb up to the window from and managed to smash the porcelain bowl.  The police at present have nothing to go on.
